The new long drive unit from Airboat Drive Units, Inc. allows for the engine to be mounted in the bottom of the hull, with the center of the crank shaft at 15 inches from the floor. By mounting the engine lower, the boat is not as top-heavy and greatly improves handling in deep water, over stumps and logs and up or down levees.
